ISAAC LEVITAN. I860. August 18 (by the Old Style, 30): Born into the family of a railroad employee Ilya Abramovich Levitan in Kibarty (today Kibartai village in Lithuania). 1860s-early 1870s. Home preschool education. Early 1870s. The Levitan family, including children (Isaac, Adolf, Teresa and Emma), moved to Moscow in hope of a better life.
