    • She is a pioneer. Jonas was an active figure in the 60s and 70s New York art scene. She came into contact with artists such as Claes Oldenburg, Richard Serra, Susan Rothenberg, Robert Smithson, Nancy Holt, Robert Whitman and Robert Rauschenberg; dancers and choreographers Simone Forti, Yvonne Rainer and Trisha Brown; and composers and musicians, John Cage, Terry Riley, Philip Glass, Steve Reich and La Monte Young, to name a few.
    • She invented her own art medium. Jonas developed the My New Theater series in 1997 as a means to portray a sense of live performance to audiences, even when she wasn’t present.
