Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News will be merged with effect from 26 December 2021 as reported in Lianhe Zaobao today (26 September 2021). The merged publication will be titled Shin Min Daily news. The last day of publication for Lianhe Wanbao will be on 24 December 2021.

The merger of the 2 evening newspapers was announced via an article on Lianhe Zaobao. Readers should note that the last issue of Wanbao will be on 24 Dec, it said. The 1st issue of the integrated Shin Min Daily News will then be released on 26 Dec, after the Christmas Day public holiday.
Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), which publishes the 2 newspapers, also referred to the move in an email sent to MS Newson Sunday (26 Sep).
