Daveigh Elizabeth Chase (/ d ə ˈ v eɪ / də-VAY; née Chase-Schwallier; born July 24, 1990) is an American actress. She began her career appearing in minor television roles before being cast as Samantha Darko in Richard Kelly's cult film Donnie Darko.
Daveigh is also cast as the English voice of the lead heroine "Chihiro" in Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Gibli's Spirited Away (2001) (aka Spirited Away) which won the 2002 Oscar for Best Animated Film. Daveigh is also a very talented singer.
