Service Pay and Make-Up Pay (MUP) Service Pay. Your Service Pay (SP) is equivalent to your full-time NS allowance, and dependent on your rank and vocation. This is set at a minimum of $1,600 per month, and pro-rated based on the duration of your ORNS activity. Half-day Service Pay will be paid for activities that are 4 hours or less.

Employed NSmen and their employers can view the auto-generated MUP amounts on the ‘Manage NSmen Payments’ eService on the NS Portal starting from one month before the start of the ORNS activity. No action will be required and payment will be made within 10 working days from the start of the ORNS activity.
