Lin Dan (Chinese : 林丹; born 14 October 1983) [ 1 ] is a Chinese former professional badminton player. He is a two-time Olympic gold medallist, five-time World champion, two-time World Cup champion, two-time Asian games gold medalist, four-time Asian Champion, as well as a six-time All England champion.
Lin Dan boasts an amazing record, winning a host of major titles more than two times over. His victories include winning two gold medals in a row at the Beijing and London Olympics, two consecutive gold medals at the Asian Games, as well as holding the title of world champion for three years in a row, with five world champion titles in total.
The Longyan-born Chinese sportsman had completed the impossible sounding ’Super Grand Slam’ by the age of 28: winning all of the nine major badminton tournaments available – including the Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup and other ‘majors’ of the sport.
