Udine is a significant city in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The ancient castle, now housing the civic museums, stands on a hill that dominates the city. Additionally, Udine is renowned as the birthplace of the famous painter Tiepolo, and to appreciate his works of art, a visit to the Galleries of the Patriarchal Palace is a must.
