2. PowerCenter. Mapping is the representaton of the business logic that your want to apply on your data. 3. Hi Rao, Find my views below: 1.diff between session parameters and workflow parameters: We can define parameters at mapping level only and then mention the parameter file at session level..at workflow level we dont have the term parameters we have only workflow variables which act as both parameters and variables.

 4. Informatica Power Center we can pre-define session property in default_session_config so we do not need to define when we create new session each time.

Do we have similar pattern in Informatica Cloud ?

 5. you can define a new session level variable in workflow options--> variables. after defining and the variable you can initialize and assign to the particular session in perameter file and mention that file name and path in that particular session properties. 6. 2.This is regarding the scope of parametres/variables. Mapping variables/parameters are used while evaluating hteexpressions in mapping. Workflow parameters/variables are global to WF and all sessions/tasks in it. If you are using variables in a mapping, you can use them in any transformation expression in the mapping.

Mapping task level define advanced session properties; You can pass the param file name from Taskflow: You can define different parameter files and pass them from Taskflow1 (param1) Taskflow2(param2) to specify the session log file name. This allows for greater flexibility in managing session log file names through parameterization.

 10. Put a decision task right after the session and define the decision name as "sessionname.SrcSuccessrows = 0" then on the link between the Decision and the control task set the expression to "decsionname.Condition=True".
