Synopsis. Sid Boggle (Sid James) and his friend Bernie Lugg (Bernard Bresslaw) are partners in a plumbing business. They take their girlfriends, the prudish Joan Fussey (Joan Sims) and meek Anthea Meeks (Dilys Laye), to the cinema to see the film Paradise about a nudist camp.
Carry on Camping is a legendary film, Charles Hawtrey gets some of the funniest ever lines, the sequence with the Farm girl 'Couldn't your father do that?' 'no it has to be the bull,' his face is immensely funny.
At the start of the film, two men and two women, watch a documentary about a nudist camp. A woman's bare breasts are visible for a few seconds, and a woman's bare bum is briefly shown. A woman's bikini top pops off as she does exercises in a crowd of women outside.
This refers to Carry on Doctor (1967). The famous bra flying scene when Babs and the girls are doing the exercises, caused some problems for Barbara Windsor. He bra was connected to a fishing line and an old stagehand was to pull it off at the given time, but he pulled her over in to the mud.
He co-starred in the short lived BBC series of P.G.Wodehouse's "Ukridge" and then performed in his first "Carry On" venture, "Follow That Camel". This led to featured roles in, amongst others, "Carry On Up The Khyber", "Carry On Camping", "Carry On Camping" and "Carry On Loving".
