Jul 13, 2019 · I have apparently found my problem. It would seem I have a conflict with the Windows Ten graphics drivers, and the AMD Radeon drivers. I am unable to delete the Windows drivers, and my ASUS Rx-580 is not happy with the Windows drivers. I have had on going issues with this W10 Home installation, reloading while keeping my files is not helping.

Feb 4, 2016 · The driver is dated Jan 2015 and is version 8.970.100.9001. It looks like AMD provided the driver specifically to support HD 4000 series cards on Windows 10. While AMD provided the driver, my understanding is that it is only available thru Windows Update and is the only driver for AMD HD4000 series Graphics with Windows 10 support.
Aug 11, 2015 · ATI Radeon HD 4250 Version: 8.970.100.9001 {13/01/2015} which was installed when I did a clean install of Windows 10 build 10565 works fine on my monitor 1920 x 1200 and my HDTV 1920 x 1080 except it automatically underscales the image on the HDTV and I was unable to stop this happening.
Mar 12, 2020 · 13 Mar 2020 #3. Windows 10 certainly does support switchable graphics with Intel and Nvidia. Looks like they are just starting to incorporate this in to Windows 10 settings. Dec 21, 2019 · AMD users can do the same, I think, but I do not recall the function name right now. I might consider it, but it caps fps at the monitor's refresh rate, that is 75, that is too much, I want about 50. I think you need to tinker with several options then. You want to cap framerate to an specific value.
Jul 10, 2021 · In my experience with an AMD Lenovo laptop, I have found that to avoid problems is better to only install AMD drivers published by the OEM (which is also the AMD recommendation). The UI, Radeon Software, is installed automatically when the drivers are updated, as it should be, and its version is always "coordinated" with the driver´s version.
