1. Without seeing the email & link {s} provided... it is difficult for us to tell. FYI. Microsoft usually has a green shield on the sender's name. and you might see a lock in the URL / address line. These indicate that the email is coming from Microsoft / legit sender. *** Please check your email to see if the green shield is there.
I received an email that appeared to be from the Microsoft accounts Team. The subject was Microsoft Account Security Alert. It read "we think that someone else might have accessed the Microsoft account (then it showed my email). There was a link to click that said "Recover account" I did not click on the link.

"If you get an email from Microsoft account team and the email address domain is @accountprotection.microsoft.com, it is safe to trust the message and open it.
