Apr 23, 2019 · The form of God referred to as 'Hari' is Sri Vishnu, Sri Krishna or His different incarnations. Lord Shiva is also referred to as 'Hari' in the Shiva-Shasranama, but our scriptures do not use the word 'Hari' to imply Lord Shiva. Otherwise, we would not have a separate dhyana-sloka for 'Hari-Hara'. An image of Hari-Hara is enclosed.
Also in this manvantara, the Supreme Lord, Viṣṇu, took birth from the womb of Hariṇī, the wife of Harimedhā, and He was known as Hari. Hari saved His devotee Gajendra, the King of the elephants, from the mouth of a crocodile. So my question is, what is the story of Vishnu's incarnation Hari? First of all, who are Harimedha and Harini?

Aug 10, 2018 · Well, I think I remembered it incorrectly. It is Hari which is the only entity named before OM(AUM). We have 108 names of Vishnu which all starts with OM. But we call it Hare (and then) OM. Let me know if I need to change the question. Thanks Swami Vishwananda and brahma jijnasa. –
Feb 28, 2018 · He who sees myself and Brahma different than Vishnu, such fools surely fall in hell. That Durãtmãn who sees myself different from Hari does a sin equivalent to BrahmaHatya. Thus, it is clearly seen Adi Shankara strongly hold Hari Hara Abheda and as per Shankara those who differentiate between Hari and Hara are doing sin equivalent to BrahmaHatya.

Jun 8, 2016 · Yes, you are right Hari refers to Lord Vishnu (Narayan). Hari Meaning: Sri Chaitanya Upanishad Text 12 From the Atharva Veda. Hari” means “He who unties [harati] the knot of material desire in the hearts of the living entities” Om namah Hari Hari. Meaning: It is a salutation to Lord Vishnu, meaning “I bow to Lord Vishnu.”

Shankara Digvijaya states that when Adi Shankara reached temple of Hari Shankara then he composed such verses with ambiguous meaning which could praise for both Shiva and Vishnu at the same time. It says: From there the Acharya, who was on a pilgrimage to all holy places, next proceeded to the temple of Hari-Sankara.
Sep 17, 2021 · Yes. Anyway besides that, He just talks about God’s leelas. He just talks about who’s the ultimate aim of all the shastras. He doesn’t preach anything to anyone (means he hasn’t written any commentary to specifically say Hari Hara are the same. He hasn’t written commentary/ preaching to his disciples to say Hari hara are different).
