I would use "something can be hidden" but I just heard a native English speaker saying "something can be hid" and so, I am pretty confused now. Thank you!

"I'm in hiding" is usually more connected with someone who is hiding from the authorities. A criminal on the run may go "into hiding" in a thick forest, or an old building.
