Jun 26, 2023 · Meteor is still around and kicking. There is a major work going on Meteor 3 which is removing Fibers and doing other major upgrades. Community since your time has shrunk, that is just the nature of things. That said, there were a few attempted competitors, but they kind of fizzled out or became something different.

Apr 9, 2016 · Node inspector is pathetic when debugging applications compared to what is available in java, .net and other languages. Webstorm is a good one but is a resource hog and expensive. Intellisense work amazingly great with VSCode at least when you use Meteor 1.3. It now understands es6 modules and provides full intellisense for your own es6 modules.
Apr 8, 2015 · Without the Meteor object, they just kind of sit there, waiting for the app to initialize. But when the Meteor object initializes, and then the Meteor.startup() is called, everything starts up and the Templates get picked up and put into place; the data subscriptions get data to the client, and the templates can finally render correctly.
May 10, 2022 · Hello, guys! Just wanted to share this extension that me and my brother @renanccastro created: Meteor Toolbox - Visual Studio Marketplace (also available on Open VSX Registry). The extension adds IntelliSense for Meteor core and imported/custom packages. It also adds some default run/debug options for VS Code. Please give it a try and let us know what you think!
