This use of "plunge" is (metaphorically) using both meanings, replacing "water" with "red" (debt). The financial value of Anacupa (either the stock price or the company worth) is moving downwards rapidly into the red (debt).

By analogy, a dip in a financial time-graph is typically a slight descent followed by an ascent, and a plunge is similar but bigger.
