Jan 12, 2017 · You're right when you say that I should be used in the nominative and me in English's oblique or objective case, usually as an object of the verb phrase, but also of a prepositional phrase. A case where you and I is incorrect is when the pronoun is the object of the the preposition between. "Just between you and me". *"Just between you and I".
So, you get people saying "Please see Sarah and I", even though it should be "Sarah and me" because it is the object of the sentence. All of this has had the effect of (in my observation) the accusative pronoun (particularly the first-person singular pronoun) being looked at as somehow informal or uneducated sounding.

Incidentally, the emphasis in the pronunciation is generally not the same for both. In the first the stress is usually on the "K" of "OK". In the second, the stress is on "you".
