Dec 15, 2020 · Within the first 30 minutes of the film, I neither cared nor wanted to care about any of the characters, especially Ava. The characters lacked any real depth, which is not the fault of the actors, but with the writing. “AVA” tries desperately to be the female “John Wick,” but ultimately ends up falling flat on its face.

Was just looking at it aging and I think it might be a custom Microtech COMBAT TROODON with a tonto blade. Hello. It's clearly a Microtech Scarab model with tanto blade.

Simply put, this movie should have been either a documentary or a more focused narrative on Isabel Wilkerson as a person. Being a hybrid of both, this movie ends up being lackluster on both fronts. We inevitably don’t get enough detail to understand her book Caste beyond the Cliff Notes version delivered to us.

Dec 12, 2020 · This actually made the average 'Haywire' look like a good movie!! 'Ava' was the first movie where I found a really bad performance from Jessica Chastain. The drama with her family looked like rejects from 'Homeland'. Malkovich was fine as usual. Colin Farrell could have avoided the movie, the mustache, and the hairstyle. Overall, it was bad.
