Geri is not a ballad singer yet her album is full of slow numbers that not only bore to death but highlight how limited her singing ability was. What she needed was a pop album, with banger after banger that just never let the listener stop rather than inter-splicing with a series of snooze-fest mediocre slow songs.
Does anyone know when they officially changed to Spice Girls because they were often referred to as 'Spice' in interviews in April-June '96. It must have been pretty late because the 'Girls' was crowbarred poorly onto the Wannabe artwork. Also the album was called Spice because it was due to be a self titled album, before the Girls was added.
Aug 29, 2024. #2,375. I adored Geri and at the time of launching her solo career, still defended her at every chance from the kids at school in the playground who had long turned their back on her after she had left. The girlies in my year even gave me every magazine of theirs she featured in!

Aug 8, 2024. #2,353. The first time I heard about the lesbian rumor was from Geri herself when she had mentioned it herself with Howard Stern (!) that she tried during her spice girls days but it wasn’t for her . She just didn’t mentioned Mel B name, in which still could put two and two together.
I remember reading disappointment from some fans at the time of the Ugenia Lavender signings, that Geri wasn't exactly gracious towards them, she was seemingly annoyed at adult fans showing up. She had quite a different temperament back then to what she seems like today, so hopefully this time she appreciates anybody who shows up!
Mar 2, 2024. #2,239. I just believe how they got together Geri must've always had seeds of doubt in the back of her mind that he'll play away. People like that always fucking do. Her transformation the last few years now speaks volumes.
With all of Geri's appearances on TV again it's made me crave a new Solo Era from her or acknowledge her past efforts as a Solo Pop Star. Rhino/Warner could package up the first 3 albums with the B-Sides, Remixes, and whatever else they can get their hands on.
