Oct 5, 2012 · It does seem strange that he seems to have disappeared. I always got the impression that he could only portray one person (i.e. Jimmy Nail). I'm quite relieved that we don't have to suffer him onscreen anymore. Now if someone can find a way of getting rid of "New Tricks" that would be a result !!! or to comment.
Oct 8, 2010 · I know Jimmy Nail from way back in the North East. His blues band was called King Crab and they used to practice in the next room to the band I was in in a pub in the North East. He also used to sing in Balmbra;s Music Hall and used to wear a posh frock belonging to his wife and no underwear while performing.

Jan 31, 2013 · In my opinion, he had the same limited acting skills, plus the ability to annoy, as James Nesbitt. I've fortunately been able to avoid both of them in recent years. He did Crocodile Shoes after Spender. Jimmy Nail is one of those actors who always seems to be playing the same character, he doesn't have the range.
Jul 10, 2015 · Think the last time it was shown was on the UK Drama channel, probably about 10 years ago. Given the current Drama channel is showing Jimmy Nail's other series, Crocodile Shoes, they may well decide to show Spender if we all write to them and request it (I already have )
Dec 16, 2018 · I remember stuff coming out about Jimmy Nail's ego donkey's years ago, when he was in Spender. Apparently, he had a really high opinion of himself but he hasn't really stood the test of time, has he, in terms of his public 'presence'. Wonder if he peed too many people in the business off after disappearing up his own fundament.
