  7. Best. ijakinov. •. Nickelodeon as the channel is without a doubt heading for it's downfall simply because Cable is slowly dying. Nickelodeon the production studio will likely live on. They will continue to make shows for other streamers and for paramount+. Budget problems are likely due to current likely temporary economic times.

I don’t care if most of us are WAY beyond the target age group for current “Nickelodeon” and adults back then probably said the same thing about “back in my day it was SO much better …” 90s Nickelodeon was unique, fun, and messy. Even my parents laughed hysterically at some of the shows.

COVID-19 only saw an increase in decline with Nickelodeon losing another 23% from 2020 to 2022. Cartoon Network was hit even harder losing 34% of its audience during the same period.
