Mar 1, 2024 · Coast Capital also offers 20% off through their website link, AND there is currently a TurboTax promo for 20% off if you file before 27 March. Clicking on either promotion, the Self-Employed version advertises only paying $48 instead of $60, yet when I get to the checkout, it shows that my bill will be $51 instead of $60.
I have the exact same issue. I clicked on the link for the 20% discount offered through Scotiabank. It did not work at the payment page for Turbo Tax. I have tried a several times with no success. Reading about the same issue experienced by other users who fell into the same trap, I now believe this was done in a deliberately deceitful way.

TurboTax needs to correct their help info. When you search on 'safety deposit box" in HELP, the first reference is to Guide - Line 221, where it says:

A lot of the T5008s issued this year do not show a cost amount in box 20 (usually because the broker did not have that information available) so you should check your own records for the details of the original purchase of the security and then enter your cost of the securities in Box 20 yourself.
