De La Salle School, Basildon, was founded by the De La Salle Brothers in 1972. Known then as St Anselm’s RC Comprehensive, the school served families of Basildon until 1996 when it changed its name to De La Salle School.
De La Salle School is one of the six Christian Brothers’ School of the De La Salle Order in Singapore. It started as a boys’ school in Kampong Bahru in 1952. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the first Lasalle Brothers to Asia in 1852, the school was named after the founder, St John Baptist De La Salle.
