If any one of Lynch’s films deserves a thorough deep dive into its themes and possible interpretations it’s likely this one, yet that sadly won’t be in the cards since Lynch is hesitant in having such material appear on any releases for his films (Tim Lucas had recorded a commentary for Kino’s previous Blu-ray edition only to have it pulled at Lynch’s insistence).
