  2. Calhoun County is a county in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2020 census, its population was 14,119, [1] making it the third-least populous county in the state. Its county seat is St. Matthews. In terms of land area, it is also the smallest county in the state. [2]

  3. About Calhoun County. In 1704, the first settlers came to Calhoun County. A region representing agricultural success and industrial progress, it wasn’t until more than 200 years later that the area officially became a county. In 2008, the County’s population of 15,000 celebrated its centennial.
