Supports eligible working mothers (including self-employed mothers) who do not qualify for the Government-Paid Maternity Leave scheme due to their employment arrangements (e.g. on short-term employment contracts, or employment contracts had expired before the birth of their child).
Government-Paid Maternity Leave. If you are a working mother, you can take 16 weeks of Government-Paid Maternity Leave to recover from childbirth and bond with your newborn. The period of leave starts from four weeks before the date of delivery and should be taken in one stretch.
In making the declaration, the female employee assures the employer that she meets the eligibility criteria for the Maternity Leave under the Child Development Co-Savings Act. A female employee is eligible for 16 weeks of paid Maternity Leave if:-
