The Raffles Archives and Museum recognises the accumulated history of Singapore’s first school, Singapore Institution (now Raffles Institution), of which the foundation stone was laid by Sir Stamford Raffles himself on 5th June 1823, four years after the colony’s founding in 1819.
With the time freed up in the Raffles Programme, Year 4 students spend 6-8 weeks pursuing an exciting, self-directed GAP Semester curriculum that provides the differentiation and flexibility necessary to cater to diverse students, while creating a dynamic and authentic environment for learning.
Rich in tradition, the history of Raffles Institution dates back to 5 June 1823. ‘Our Story’ is an attempt to provide her brief 200-year history through a selection of photos and images curated from the school’s four campuses.
A leading Singaporean pre-tertiary institution for boys aged 13 to 18 and girls aged 17 to 18. We run the 6-year Raffles Programme with Raffles Girls’ School. We provide our students with the opportunity, space and support to explore their passions and interests, from research to sport and the arts.
