You can expect your child's CDA to be opened within 3 to 5 working days of your child's birth registration, or after your child's enrolment into Baby Bonus Scheme, whichever is later. The CDA is a special co-savings account.
The Baby Bonus Scheme helps you manage the costs of raising a child. It comprises the (i) Baby Bonus Cash Gift (BBCG) and (ii) Child Development Account (CDA) benefits comprising First Step Grant and Government co-matching of parents’ savings. Jul 18, 2018 · You will need to open a CDA Account when your child is born in order to receive #2 and #3 of the following Baby Bonus components: (1) Cash Gift – Either $8,000 (for 1st and 2nd child) or $10,000 (3rd child onwards) will be paid out upon the birth of your child. This is paid into any bank account you wish, and not your CDA.
