Astoria is a port city and the seat of Clatsop County, Oregon, United States. Founded in 1811, Astoria is the oldest city in the state and was the first permanent American settlement west of the Rocky Mountains.
Astoria is located in Clatsop County in the northwestern portion of the state. It sits at the mouth of the famous Columbia River which divides Oregon from the state of Washington. In fact, Astoria is connected to the state of Washington by a short four mile drive across the popular Astoria Megler Bridge.
