Whitechapel is an area in London, England, and is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is in east London and part of the East End. It is the location of Tower Hamlets Town Hall and therefore the borough town centre. Whitechapel is located 3.4 miles (5.5 km) east of Charing Cross.

- Whitechapel Gallery. Let’s start with one of the best things in the area – the Whitechapel Gallery. It was opened as a public gallery in 1901 and has been going strong ever since.
- Street art. Of course, Whitechapel has more art than just what’s on display in the gallery. The whole suburb has become an exhibition, with street art all throughout the area.
- Street food. As well as street art, you’re going to find street food in Whitechapel. Remember the immigrants in the East End I mentioned earlier? Well, those original newcomers have left their mark in this part of London and it’s one of the most multicultural areas you’ll find in the city.

Since it first opened in 1901, the Whitechapel Gallery has hosted numerous iconic artists, including Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, and David Hockney; today, it features art retrospectives and rotating exhibitions of contemporary artists from around the world.
- Drink at Discount Suit Company. 29A Wentworth Street, London E1 7TB, UK. Phone +44 20 7247 8755. Hidden in a former tailor's stockroom, Discount Suit Company is one of East London's coolest cocktail bars.
- Experience Spitalfields City Farm. Buxton Street, London E1 5AR, UK. Phone +44 20 7247 8762. Spitalfields City Farm opened in 1978 on a wasteland site and is now home to several barnyard animals and an expansive garden.
- Dine at Tayyabs. 83-89 Fieldgate Street, London E1 1JU, UK. Phone +44 20 7247 9543. Tayyabs is a beloved, family-run Punjabi restaurant that's been around since 1972.

- Whitechapel Bell Foundry. 34 Whitechapel Rd, E1 1DY.
- Whitechapel High Street. Running from Aldgate East in the west to Cambridge Heath in the east, Whitechapel High Street is a big and important street that perfectly reflects the spirit of the East End.
- East London Food Tours. It’s no secret that East London is a culinary paradise for those loving international cuisine, innovative street food and an eclectic mix of flavour.
