Exeter is a beautiful college right in the centre of Oxford. When I visited it on the open day and met some of the students, I really got the sense that they were kind, friendly people.
Exeter College is located at the heart of Oxford, adjoining the Bodleian Library. The College, the fourth oldest at the University, has occupied its current site on Turl Street since 1315, one year after it was founded.

Applicants. Exeter College is home to around 380 undergraduate students and 300 graduate students. They cherish Exeter’s warm, inclusive atmosphere, its beautiful setting in the heart of Oxford, and its excellent teaching and research facilities.
Exeter College’s historic site is in the heart of Oxford, in Turl Street. Within two minutes’ walk are the eclectic shops of Broad Street and the Covered Market plus some of the best cafés and restaurants in Oxford.
The Oxford English syllabus covers the entire spread of English Literature from Old English (“Anglo-Saxon”) to the present, as well as a range of special options as widely divergent as, for example, American Literature, Women’s Writing, Critical Theory, Medieval Latin, Classical Literature and various Celtic languages related to English.
Readers can access Exeter’s library catalogue on SOLO, the joint catalogue of all of the University’s libraries. SOLO also includes links to the many electronic books and resources available to members of the University.
Open Days are excellent opportunities to ask lots of questions about academic and non-academic life as an Exeter College student, and to visit our beautiful grounds in the centre of Oxford. Our next Open Day will be held in 2025 and will form part of the University of Oxford Open Days.
