Spring Breakers is a relentless and visceral assault on both the senses of the viewers and the ideals and dreams of the exact audience the film was marketed to. Spring Breakers, in many regards is not unlike The Great Gatsby. Both deal the downfall of characters due to the disillusioned perception of the American Dream.

It means a lot when no one bats an eye at the film's depiction of what is expected of women on spring break - women are simply expected to get naked and make out with each other for other men's entertainment.

No it’s a bunch of white privileged bitches appropriating the culture and lifestyle they so badly wana live because they bored in their white privileged suburban life.
Taxi didn’t really get taxi’d. XCX world got bonked and all the songs for it except Girls Night out and After the Afterparty got 🪓. Unless Brat leaks now which I doubt. Spring breakers will probably be on the album or standalone single.

Looking for some truly divisive movies like Spring Breakers, Neon Demon, Southland Tales…. You know, movies that tend to be very love it or hate it. I’m not talking so much about movies that might be divided based off enjoyment, people who might rate The Room highly, but recognize it’s terrible.

Visually and musically stunning, simple plot to follow, no characters to root for. Surprise exit by a major star, and we see her regret the decision instead of living happily ever after at home. I love this movie, it's a completely different experience than the usual good guy vs bad guy happy ending stuff. Reply.
