Oct 27, 2021 · So I (very) recently changed from DuckDuckGo to Swisscows. Their results seem to be equal, or even better, to DuckDuckGo's. I also like the values they promote and their charity project . But I am kind of unsure about their privacy policy. It seems okay to me, but I am still a little confused about it:

Jan 12, 2023 · Swisscows is supposed to be very family-friendly. So it won't show (censor) anything that it considers adult content. That's why I wouldn't use it in everyday life. I would like to have all search results, not just the ones that are sfw. Valid use cases would be to use it at work, for example.
Jul 2, 2022 · Unrelated, but you should try Brave Search too. They say, they build they own search index and only add some advertised search results on top of the search results, presented by Bing, without sharing your data, to earn some money. Seems to be safe with good search results.

I used to use Proton but a few things I have tried to sign up for don't allow Proton email as they say it is linked to suspicious dealings and activities.
Oct 27, 2019 · DDG records ALL search requests. SwissCows looks to have a zero data collection policy, no logging IPs, searches, user agent, or anything else. Not partnered with Yahoo. Not dependent on Amazon and eBay affiliate revenue.

One other thing is they present themselves as family friendly search engine. According to them they: promote moral values. hate violence and adult content.
