Sep 20, 2011 · I traveled with my minor son this year. His visa expiry date is 16/07/2016. We entered the USA on 25th April 2016 and came back to India on the 6th of June 2016. So I don't think its true that you cannot travel before six month or three month of expiry of passport.

The establishment has a policy, or the parent company has a policy, the desk-clerk just follows the rules, probably the duty-manager also just follows the rules.
Oct 19, 2022 · Like the earlier answer, I assume you and your son are US citizens. While the earlier answer is correct that filling out the DS-5525 doesn't guarantee a passport will be issued for your son, going a bit deeper reveals more information.
