  1. Jun 11, 2013 · Paraneer said: Wharfedale is Britans oldest Loudspeaker manufacturer that has been around sinece the 1930's. So they have made many, many speakers over the decades; some real gems and some dogs. They also make many lines of speakers in any given model year ranging from bargain basement junk to world class top of the line.

The Evo cost more, but looks more attractive, and has 1" tweeter and two 6.5" midrange/bass woofers. The 9.6 has two 8" bass/midrange drivers, 2" midrange doom and 1" tweeter. So, much more drivers area on the 9.6.

  5. Nov 26, 2014 · And there is also that Wharfedale sound signature...the Evos aren't as lush as my Diamond 10.1 but they don't have so many compromises with the top end. Dirty little secret of the audio hobby How MOST people actually listen vs how REVIEWERS listen

Im looking for cheapish but decent sub to go with my active Audioengine A5´s. Wharfedale seem to be a respected company and many of their speakers get great reviews ...

  7. May 31, 2020 · Need help deciding on a set of Wharfedale speakers (EVO 4.1, EVO 4.2, Diamond 11.2) This is my first post here. I currently own Polk RTi A3s. These are used in a small carpeted living room in a 2.1 setup. My sub is a Dayton 10 inch. Music and movies. About a 50/50 split of both. Receiver is a Denon AVR-S500BT.

  8. Oct 30, 2006 · If you have Wharfedale mains, go with the same brand. Wharfedales have unique (but very pleasant) sound quality. It will be hard for you to find a center ch of another brand that matches your mains in timbre. BTW, I have an older model of their Pacific line (Pi-30). The drivers are the same as current Evo's. Love their sound.

  9. Feb 11, 2017 · If you want a more laid back sound go with Wharfdale. If you want clear and detailed but not too bright go with Kef. If want something a little brighter go with Paradigm. Whichever speaker you chose will do much better with a sub. Bedroom: Kef Q100, SVS SB-2000, Denon AVR-S710W, PS3, Panasonic 50" Plasma.

  10. Nov 6, 2019 · After extensive auditioning, I ended up with the Wharfedale Evo 4.1. I initially considered the Evo 4.2, but rather bizarrely found the smaller speakers clearer and more coherent than its big brother, although of course it lacks the scale and bass extension of the 4.2. I am very happy with the 4.1 which I feel sets a new standard at the price.
