Geomancer has been hinting so many times throughout the past few expansions. With Yoshi saying summoner keeping resurrection by the skin of its teeth. I believe in 7.0 summoner will lose resurrection and become a pure caster like blm leaving rdm and the new caster hopefully (Geomancer) to be the more support oriented casters.
Monk Lv 90. Geomancer was teased in the Astrologian quests in Stormblood. In those quests the geomancer NPC you work with uses basically the white mage toolkit but with different names, and is slated as a healer. This could always change in the future, but based off what's in the game now, it would seem that's what they were setting up.

Again, all the basic healing toolkit is there, from the DPS Spells [Single Target / DoT / AoE] to it's curing abilities [Luz / Aluz / Luz III] and it's Regen Spells tied to Storms.

Okay as per request I am adding information regarding the abilities I have presented and how they would be used as a general rotation. Enmity Combo (Breaker) Gaia Breaker - 150/300. Cryo Breaker - 200. Hydro Breaker - 250. Total - 600/750 (with 30% chance trait) Non-Enmity Combo (Non-Breaker) Gale Strike - 150/300.

And the ultimate Geomancer weapon from FFV is actually already in the game as a minion, the Tinker Bell, which you get from beating Archeotania, just like how it was gotten in FFV.
