Our Marriage Journey (OMJ)
Our Marriage Journey. We assist couples that are getting married in Singapore. This service is provided by Registry of Marriages and Registry of Muslim Marriages.
The Registry of Marriages (ROM) was set up to administer the provisions of the Women’s Charter 1961 for the registration and solemnisation of civil marriages. Under the Charter, polygyny for non-Muslims was abolished. Every marriage was registered in the certificate of marriage and entered in the State Marriage Register.
The Muslim marriage process outlines the steps to becoming legally married in Singapore. It applies to couples who are both Muslims and 21 years old and above. Check your eligibility to ensure this is the correct marriage process for you.
However, if you wish to register your marriage to obtain a Singapore marriage certificate, you may follow the instructions below to apply. After your marriage is registered with the Registry of Marriages (ROM), your marriage details will be updated in your Singpass profile.
ROMM (together with the Registry of Marriages for civil marriages) introduced computerization of its marriage records, called the Marriage Records System (MRS). The Registries were the first department in the then Ministry of Social Affair to embark on computerization of records.
Get an overview of the Civil Marriage (non-Muslim) process and register your marriage online with ROM.
