  6. He was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, where he graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the Ohio State University in 1960 and a Juris Doctor from Cleveland–Marshall College of Law.

  7. Dr. Bennett’s research focuses on two research areas: the influence of microbes (predominantly mutualistic fungi) on plant defense and interactions with other organisms (such as herbivores and pollinators), and evolution within plant-associated microbiomes.
