DASH Observatory is the official transit provider into Griffith Park. it connects at the Sunset/Vermont Metro station and makes stops through Los Feliz village, The Greek Theatre, Mt Hollywood hiking trail and the front lawn of the Griffith Observatory.
The Griffith Park Visitor Center sits in the middle of Park Center in Griffith Park. This is a more casual setting, perfect for meetings, receptions or special events. Outside the doors of the building you will find a beautifully landscaped, native garden, with plenty of picnic tables and barbeques.
Reservations for use of designated picnic areas may be made for groups of any size which the facility can accommodate. Alcohol is not permitted in any picnic area. All fees must be paid 30 days in advance. Reservations made less than 30 days must be paid when reservation and permit are issued.
Camp Offers: Griffith Park Boys Camp is the best kept secret in Los Angeles. The camp offers hiking, arts and crafts, sports, challenge activities, campfire programs, archery, outdoor living skills, nature awareness, field trips, themed sessions for variety and special events to highlight each week.
Griffith Park Boys' Camp. (213) 664-0571. Located on Spur Road off Griffith Park Drive, the camp provides organized camping on weekends and holidays, open to boys 7-14 years of age. Organized groups of 50 or more people may rent the camp during unscheduled periods.
The Griffith Park Master Plan Working Group discussed the problems of abandoned, derelict water tanks found throughout the Park. During those discussions (2005-2008) it became clear that a formal MOU between LADWP and RAP exists: LADWP is responsible to operate and maintain water assets which are “in service”.
