Warning: Full spoilers for the Rectify: Season 2 finale follow...

*While we don't regularly cover Rectify, it's an excellent show (and one of my current favorites). We figured we'd check in with it as its second season wraps up and gauge interest in potentially covering it more moving forward*

Even though it was a long shot, and too much of a game changer story-wise, for Daniel to actually up and leave Paulie, GA outright, as part of a "banishment" plea, I think we can agree that Rectify managed to use this arc effectively and emotionally.

And during the powerful debriefing toward the end of the episode, we saw Daniel show us just how his confession could have been coerced 19 years ago. When he was boy who wanted nothing more than to simply the leave the room he was in and see his father. So this time, against both Jon and Amantha's separate advice - and while stoically maintaining his innocence - he "confessed" to killing Hanna. Giving the whole false, coerced confession another try. "Will you let me go this time?" Daniel asked/accused Senator Foulkes. He was just a boy again. Wanting to leave the room.

"Unhinged" may have wound up, in its culmination, focused more on the actual crime than the show's ever concerned itself with - but its been a satisfying slow-burn of a mystery. I also loved how it's taken all season for Daniel's attack on Ted, which didn't even happen in the Season 1 finale (a few episodes before that, in fact), to boil into somet...
