The Helix Gateway does not have battery backup, but telephone service is not integrated with Helix anyway, so, Helix customers who also have the Residential Telephony service will have the Arris modem still installed to provide the Telephony service. 2. Bridge mode for all intents and purposes disables the "router" portion of the Gateway.
Jan 17, 2024 · To summarize, even in bridge mode the modem was broadcasting 3 WiFi SSIDs where 3 were broadcasting on 2.4GHz and 2 were broadcasting on 5GHz throughout the house, even though it was in bridge mode . I was able to greatly reduce the RFI emitted by the Helix router by physically disconnecting the six (6) antennas . Here are the link of interest:
Jul 28, 2022 · Bridge mode disables the router aspect but I think the question was a reverse scenario. Aka what if they go with another provider and set the new provider modem/router in bridge mode and only have the Helix as a router to manage their home devices.

The first (A) router was connected to the old Vidéotron modem (still using for the phone) and the second one (B) is bridged to the A. Each has a separate network name, A and B.

Jun 25, 2020 · Below, all the disadvantages to have bridge mode ON: 1- The advanced features of the Helix terminal are disabled (Parental control, Band Steering, etc.) 2- Helix Fi application is not functional. 3- Our Wi-Fi relays cannot be used. 4- No support during a problem with the Helix TV channels and / or the Wi-Fi network.
