Feb 3, 2021 · Running NLB Manager on a system with all networks bound to NLB might not work as expected. If all interfaces are set to run NLB in "unicast" mode, NLB Manager will fail to connect to hosts. So either use a NLB interface, as your article also suggests, or use multicast mode.

Depending on directions of your NLB (and what you're trying to do), once will often have the NLB NIC not have a default gateway, but the second NIC to have the default gateway.

Jun 5, 2013 · 10. Active Directory already has load balancing techniques built into it. Your Windows client knows how to locate the redundant domain controllers in its own site, and how to use another one if the first one is unavailable. There's no need to perform additional load balancing, like "clustered" DCs, etc. as long as you have redundant DCs.

Jun 10, 2009 · I don't want something that requires a front server to sit physically (network-wise) in front of the machines (like certain hardware LBs do, and Linux Virtual Server does, AFAIK). I want something that'll act similar to Microsoft's NLB -- pick N nodes, they all listen on the same IP, and divvy up the incoming requests.

Go into your security group settings and permit incoming ICMP traffic on the one that is assigned to your ELB. Security groups work the same whether they're assigned to an ELB or EC2 instance. I just tested and confirmed: PING elb01-2026631704.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com (107.23.23.138) 56(84) bytes of data.
