The Singapore Scout Association (SSA) is one of the oldest youth movement in Singapore dating back to 1910. It is a full member of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM), which numbers over 57 million Scouts across 173 National Organisations as of 2022.
The Scout Programme aims to make Scouting an experience where Scouts develop character while having fun. As such, they will be encouraged to start a Scout journal to detail their journey. Scouts partake activities in a team system called Patrols.
Scouting in Singapore was inaugurated on 2 July 1910 by Frank Cooper Sands, a Scoutmaster from the United Kingdom, who started the first Scout Troop in Singapore.
Cub Scouts (Cubs) is for boys and girls aged 7 – 12 years old. The objective of the Cub Scout programme is to develop the child in an environment that is intellectually and physically stimulating as well as providing challenges for the child to face and overcome.
The Chief Scout holds the highest authority in the SSA and grants warrants to commissioners recommended by the Association as well as awards to adult leaders. The Chief Scout also awards outstanding Venture Scouts who attained the highest sectional award— the President’s Scout Award.

About. Ventures are Scouts aged between 16 and 18 who come together to form a “Unit” and engaged in activities based on their interest. They are guided by a Venture Scout Leader who supports them in their personal development and reflections.
