That said, is there a way to change the character count of a text form field of a document I did not create?

But, you could use ExportPDF to convert your PDF file to Word format, and then do your character count in Word. Please let us know if you need additional assistance.

Mar 13, 2024 · Laid atop the bottom half is a scale printout of our text, same column width (not it Scala but Calluna Sans, 9.9 pt, tracked 1 unit wide), averaging 87.8 characters a line, 3 characters more. As a visual test, covering up 3 characters on either side brings the line — suprisingly so — into a more comfortable readability.
Mar 16, 2019 · This would be a great feature request and it can be made here: Adobe Illustrator Feedback. In InDesign you can use the Info panel and click to get a word count of the entire story or select to get a word count of the selection. I would see this working about the same way if it were implemented in Illustrator. 1 Upvote.
