May 2, 2019 · DTube is the only site I know where you yourself are 100% responsible of the videos, responsible of hosting them, sharing them, etc. You can't do that on some file sharing sites either because they have rules. Something else, DTube is not a video streaming platform, it's a video hosting platform, yes we had been lied to.

Jun 25, 2019 · The revenue is actually being split between content creators and curators, the latter being people that upvote your content early, thus making it more visible to other users. The steem blockchain and steemit, on which dtube is based seems like a generally viable model to me, without forcing subscriptions or a lot of ads.
