Feng Xiaogang (simplified Chinese: 冯小刚; traditional Chinese: 馮小剛; pinyin: Féng Xiǎogāng; born 18 March 1958 in Beijing) is a Chinese film director, screenwriter, actor, producer and politician.
冯小刚，1958年3月18日出生于 北京市 大兴区，祖籍 湖南省 湘潭市，中国内地导演、编剧、演员，第十三届全国政协文化文史和学习委员会委员。 [1] [67] [188] 1984年，担任剧情片《生死树》的美术助理，正式进入电影圈 [154]。 1985年，调入 北京电视艺术中心 成为美工师，在热播电视剧中担任美术设计 [149] [189]。 1992年，冯小刚与 郑晓龙 合作电影剧本《大撒把》，获第十三届中国电影金鸡奖最佳故事片等提名 [175]。 1994年，转行导演，处女作是《永失我爱》 [175]。 1997年至2007年期间，冯小刚开创了贺岁片，先后推出了《甲方乙方》《不见不散》《没完没了》等多部票房极高的贺岁电影，奠定了其在影坛的绝对地位 [149] [190-192]。

Feng Xiaogang (born 1958) is a Chinese film director. He is famous in China as being perhaps the most successful "commercialized" filmmaker whose comedy films do consistently well in the box office, although Feng has attempted to break out from that mold by making drama or period drama films recently.
Feng Xiaogang emerged as one of Asia’s most successful commercial directors in the late 1990s for his searing black comedies about the lives of common people in a rapidly changing China. In the past 15 years, his films have become more ambitious and have pushed the boundaries of Chinese cinema.
