"Japanophile" and "Sinophile" make you think of some sort of academic or artistic interest, maybe an appreciation for calligraphy, the native theatre or something. Weeaboo and Koreaboo don't, because these words were created to describe something more particular and different.

Koreaboo usually refers to people who fetishize Korean people and culture. They unhealthily worship/idolize Korea and are (sometimes deliberately) ignorant of the fact that it’s not exactly like their dramas or idols, but has its own complex culture, historical depth and social issues just like any other country.
Do not be a koreaboo apologist. Some behavior is not acceptable at all and even though the koreaboo in question might be a kid, it does not make it right. Do not demean idols. Calling idols women or emasculating them is not allowed. This is a preventative measure to ensure that these kinds of insults don't devolve into anything hateful.
I feel like Koreaboo is just about whichever topic will generate clicks. Right now, the hot topics are "Babymonsters = good", and "Hybe groups = cannot sing live". So you will probably see more articles along those lines these days. It's not like Koreaboo has an editorial team that practices proper journalism.

As far as I can tell, OP is American, and by extension, culturally American. His ancestry does not preclude him from being a Koreaboo. That being said, I don't necessarily think OP is a Koreaboo. It's just that it is possible to both have Korean ancestry and be a Koreaboo. Race/ancestry and culture are differnet things.
