Lazada for better returning process of an item. Shopee if you wanted to fight like in court to return a defective item.

Lazada has a smoother and cleaner UI than Shopee. Vouchers are stackable, too. I only use Lazada if I will be purchasing items from LazMalls amounting to 2k and above. Otherwise, Shopee is my preferred shopping platform because you have more options to choose from and minimal lang yung Review Bots and "illegit" items.

From some 2nd hand experience, Lazada PH has been known to seriously overwork employees. At one point, This department I needed to talk to had no manager/OIC because of high turnover rate. They had to outsource the work to their counterpart in Thailand while they looked for someone to fill the role.
In terms of delivery, Lazada is faster. 1-2 days lang nandyan na (Metro Manila ako). Shopee takes 2-5 days (longest was a week) In terms of vouchers, Shopee has the edge. Malaki vouchers sa shopee (assuming eligible item mo), though no stacking. The discount makes up for it though.
