Feb 21, 2024 · The mu symbol is showing up as a capital M. I have checked older forums but haven't found an answer. It appears that all font shape files are in the correct support path. This is using AutoCAD 2023 on Windows 11, but it has happened on other versions of AutoCAD and Windows in the past.
Jun 5, 2023 · I seem to be unable to make the Mu sign "µ" in auto cad. I cant copy paste an existing µ either. It seems to auto set it to the capital version of the Mu sign which is 'M'. How can I fix this? This has been a recent problem, within the last 2 weeks or so. Thank you! ps- I know the shortcut is alt-230.
Apr 5, 2022 · Hello, I am having an issue with a project that requires the "Mu" symbol. For some reason, it only displays as a "M" or a square box, depending on which symbol I choose. I've done some digging and apparently it may be due to some missing .SHX files.

May 12, 2005 · in 2007/8 you can use the symbol in the MTEXT editor (SQUARED) in earlier releases I used to type 2^ then highlight the characters and use the stack button a/b to elevate the 2 a nd reduce it's size

Jul 17, 2016 · A computer had both AutoCAD 2016 and 2017. When AutoCAD 2016 was removed, the files of AutoCAD 2017 showing in the Windows Explorer of Windows 10 began to show blank (white) with nothing on it to indicate the AutoCAD program type like before. How to restore the AutoCAD symbol on these icons? Thanks in advance.
Nov 20, 2017 · If it displays an X, highlight the X in the text box, then in the Formatting section of the text edit panel, change the Font type to GDT, or AIGDT, wherever you found the symbol. You get the X or W or whatever because you are trying to insert a symbol into a text box that has a different font type (like Arial) already selected, and that font does not support that symbol, so it displays the X.
