    National Gallery Singapore’s well-loved annual festival of international films on art, Painting with Light, returns to the Gallery for its fifth edition. As the world grapples with social issues such as inequality and displacement, this year’s film festival looks at the interactions between art and social commentary.

  10. Day Two will focus on Singapore-made films with social realist approaches in Malay and Chinese languages up to the 1970s, and will refer to the works of Malay film auteur Hussain Haniff as well as the Mandarin feature films produced by Chong Gay Organisation.
