Wikimapia (stylized as wikimapia) is a geographic online encyclopedia project. The project implements an interactive "clickable" web map that utilizes Google Maps with a geographically-referenced wiki system, with the aim to mark and describe all geographical objects in the world.

Places to be on Wikimapia. Rules for places: Non-movable places that exist at this moment of time. Examples of what should be on the map: • All visible objects (buildings, lakes, rivers, roads, harbor facilities etc.) • Newly constructed buildings, which are not visible on the satellite image.
